Bark In The Park Funding

By: Linda Young

Bark—and Meow—in the Park-2019 was held on Memorial Day, Monday, May 27. Fans were allowed to bring their dogs for an admission of $5, with the proceeds donated to area animal rescues and shelters. KittyCorner received a special invitation because one of the sponsors, Tito’s Vodka, was giving special awards of $2,500 to five rescue/sheltering organizations including Second Chance. Paws Across Oswego County, Cuse Pit Crew. Humane CNY and, KittyCorner.

This is indeed a great honor and we are grateful to Tito’s Vodka for including us. We are also thankful to the Mets for inviting us to their event, and for their great hospitality. The whole event was full of fun. There was a pet parade, with many of the dogs dressed in their best, including baseball uniforms. Then the checks were presented, amid a few jokes about cats being at Bark in the Park. (We just told them that our cats are bilingual.) And many of our friends stopped by to talk—always a treat for us.

So a big thank you to everyone for a great day all around, and to Tito’s for enough funding to save a lot more cats.
